Interim Internal Structure
The Interim Internal Structure was first approved at the first Parliament meeting, and then amended with Decisions 2024/GOV/11/5, 2024/GOV/12/04 and 2024/GOV/12/05.
There are 3 levels in the structure:
- Ministry,
- Council [or Permanent Mission],
- Commission.
Names and titles are not final.
Internal Affairs
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MINTA) is in charge of everything internal to the Cannabis Embassy. The MINTA is part of the Government of the Cannabis Embassy. The MINTA is composed by the following subsidiary bodies:
- CENGGA (Cannabis Embassy’s Non-profit Groups and Grassroots Associations)1
- CEPSAC (Cannabis Embassy’s Private Sector Advisory Council)1
- Council on Embassy Finances & Administration
- Council on Communications
- Constitutional Council
- Council on Justice & Human Rights1

External Affairs
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEXTA) is in charge of everything external to the Cannabis Embassy. The MEXTA is part of the Government of the Cannabis Embassy. The MEXTA is composed by the following subsidiary bodies:
- Permanent Mission to Vienna (also covering New York and Nairobi)
- Permanent Mission to Geneva
- Council on Ecology, Environment, & Climate1
- Commission on Biopiracy
- Commission on Agriculture1

Cannabis Embassy Meetings
The Interim Government of the Cannabis Embassy meets on the third Wednesday every week. Members of the Interim Senate may attend Government meetings and take part in deliberations.

Government & Parliament Meetings
Government Meeting #13 - 4 Sept. 2024 (online)
Several decisions were taken and work items addressed at this meeting. The most relevant decisions of public interest are:

The Cannabis Embassy will organise a second edition of the “Cannabis Embassy Campus Vienna” in March 2025, and seek coordination with other stakeholders to scale up the event. |

The Council on Communications will carry the mandate for the Cannabis Embassy delegations’ protocols and detail. |

A Constitutional Council meeting will be convened to consider the four proposals submitted for the draft Constitution. |

The “2024 Strategic Plan” is approved. The draft “2025-2030 Global Cannabis Strategy” is pre-approved for consultations, for final adoption in 2025. |

An interim registry for non-profit entities is established. The contribution to the budget of the Cannabis Embassy for entities registered is set at 50 CHF (or equivalent in other currencies). |

An interim registry for businesses is established. The contribution to the budget of the Cannabis Embassy is set at 250 CHF for businesses under 50.000 CHF budget; 1000 CHF for businesses under 500.000 CHF budget; and 1500 CHF for businesses over 100.000.000 CHF budget (or equivalent in other currencies). |

Region Ganja
The name “Ganja” is adapted from Sanskrit गञ्जा and is the oldest word used by humans to refer to hemp, and in particular to its mature tops.
Variations: गांजा, ganjah, gunjah, ganjah, กัญชา, ganjha, guaja, ganga, gunja, gunga, etc.

Region Sedenegi
The name “Sedenegi” is an Arabised word derived from Persian šāh dānag (the king of grains/the sultan of seeds). It was once the preferred term for consumable hemp fruiting tops in Europe and the Mediterranean.
Variations: šedenegi, šahdānaŷ, sabdenegū, sadenegū, ꝓscehedenigi, etc.

Region Bangi
The name “Bangi” derives from ancient Sanskrit term भङ्ग (bhaṅga) and was brought centuries ago to Eastern African coasts where it spread and adapted over the centuries into many African languages vernaculars.
Variants: mbangi, bangue, mbangue, chamba, mbanje, timbango, intsangu, lentsango, etc.

Region Mariguana
The name “Mariguana” derives from mariamba, a word which itself originated in Central African Bantu languages (diamba, riamba; the “ma-” is plural marker) and evolved in America and the Caribbean through diffusion by forcefully displaced slave communities.
Variations: marihuana, marijuana, maconha, mariamba, maría, Mary Jane, Santa María, etc.

The name “Weed” is a popular Western contemporary urban designation for Cannabis, associated with its region due to the relatively new presence of the plant, as compared to other landmasses.
