The Cannabis Embassy was proclaimed in 2024. But there are decades of actions before which led to the Embassy. The timeline below lists a chronology of the main international & coordinated cannabis policy activities prior to 2024, considered as part of the direct advocacy background and history of the Embassy. This chronology starts in 1998, as the UN convened a world drug summit that pledged the complete eradication of all drugs within 10 years.
