The name of Region “Bangue” derives from ancient Sanskrit term भङ्ग (bhaṅga) and was brought centuries ago to Eastern African coasts where it spread and adapted over the centuries into many African languages vernaculars.
Variants: mbangi, bangui, mbangue, chamba, mbanje, timbango, intsangu, lentsango, etc.
Across the ancient highlands, savannas, and mighty river basins of the Region Bangue, Africa’s cannabis heritage and future thrives in a verdant sweep from its equatorial heartlands to its southern plateaus, from its shores on the Indian Ocean (from where the plant arrived from the region Ganja) to its northern coast (where the plant also arrived from regions Ganja and Sedenegi). It encompasses the living heart of traditions that have flourished for centuries among a megadiverse universe of peoples and ecosystems, and opens on its West to its sister region Mariguana, that takes its name from an African term!
The Administrative Regions were approved on 4 Sept. 2024 in ✅ Decision 2024/GOV/13/01 to balance cannabis history, geography, politics, and culture.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MINTA) is in charge of everything internal to the Cannabis Embassy. The MINTA is part of the Government of the Cannabis Embassy and is composed by the following subsidiary bodies:
- CENGGA (Cannabis Embassy’s Non-profit Groups and Grassroots Associations)
- CEPSAC (Cannabis Embassy’s Private Sector Advisory Council)
- Council on Embassy Finances & Administration
- Constitutional Council
- Library & Archive (Bibliothecas Archivumque ex Legationis Cannabis)
Bodies not yet formally constituted: Council on Communications; Council on Justice & Human Rights. Body suspended: Strategic Planning Commission.
